About the Shot

Galaxias. I took this photo about two miles from my house in Hawaii. The Milky Way is shining brightly above the Halemaumau vent on the right, and the Pu'u O'o vent in the distance on the left. This image captures the essence of Kilauea Volcano, and its place in the universe.
