The photos in this series explore the lives of people who live in a very destitute area of the world. Taken in the Khayelitsha & DuNoon Townships, just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Going into these areas I expected to see individuals who were depressed and overcome with troubles. What I ended up finding were people, especially children, who were happy to be living the life they were given. Perhaps this was because they knew no other way of living...
