It was 101 degrees, I saw him through the window, just standing, staring out into "their" garden for about 20 minutes. I took a shot of him from the guest room window behind the curtains. I can only imagine what he was thinking, obviously he was thinking of her. I too, miss her very much. She made me laugh every time I was there each year, and kept telling me in Slovak, yelling and laughing, "Quit smoking! you are going to kill your sperms!" She was great, the last thing she told me before passing was, "Do what you love to do, do not compromise your dreams, ever, try, and now have a shot of Hruskovica!" Hruskovica = Pear liquor that is home-made. About a 32% alcohol level that Dedko (grandpa) would share with me every morning, yes morning! About 9am. Sharing special aged bottles that were about 12 years old.
