About the Shot
"Guardian" was created piece by piece, composed of over 30 layers, and the image is able to print very large while still keeping great detail. The meaning is poetic and I like to leave that up to the viewer, however I have a few thoughts. I find the simple juxtaposition fascinating to see a wild creature, the wolf, in a gigantic forest that is obviously completely man-made. The wolf has a history of being a guard, and so I see him as the protector of these magical woods... Prints at 20x49 at 300ppi and is great enlarged. This series ("Visions") is a collection of large-scale surreal imagery inspired by altered perspectives in the dreaming state, where our reality is sometimes a bit sideways, or even completely upside down. Within this work, you are being told only fractions of a story and left to fill in the gaps with your own imagination.
