Images of the Calendar „ Cultural Treasures 2012“– August: Terraces at the Berlin Olympic Stadium, „FOOT-BALL-STAAR“, Dujardin Frankreich 1920 – At the beginning of 2011, I came across several books about vending machines and was amazed by their variety and their scope of application. Equally striking were the uncountable technical applications for vending machines and the inventiveness of their creators. They featured historic machines, which, with their history and individual signs of use, were mostly manually fabricated and have a touching uniqueness. To remind us of those often forgotten cultural treasures and to point out and preserve their importance for the present day is the concern of this submitted calendar. The aim was to present historic vending machines with their very diverse purposes and shapes at places that are representative for Berlin. These historical objects integrated very naturally in their chosen locations as if they had always been there.
